"Stay far away, Cold." Green/Brown Smoothie

There is some sort of summer cold going around and I decided I had to make a smoothie that would beat up any cold viruses before it entered into my body. Garlic, Onion, Lemon, and Honey are the most amazing foods to put in your body when and before you become sick. They help boost the immune system and kill those buggers. If I catch a cold I will eat all four constantly and in about 2 days I will be healed. HEALED! No masking up the symptoms with cold medicine. CURED and Healed. That is the way I like to be. This smoothie does though have a sweet onion flavor and a garlic after taste (which I LOVE).

Ingredients:

1 Banana
1 cup of Carrots
1/4 cup of Broccoli
1 1/2 cup of Spinach
1/2 cup chopping local grown onion (can be whatever onion you have in your house)
1 clove of Garlic
1 cup of frozen Blueberries
Half a Lemon
1 tablespoon of Honey
1 teaspoon of Chia Seeds
1 Teaspoon of Bee Pollen
Oat Milk

Place all the ingredients in your #Vitamix. Blend for 20 seconds. Pour into a cup and or mason jar. Enjoy!

Make at home Popsicles

Last night I had two banana's that needed to be used since they were super smushy and brown. I had this brill idea jump in my brain. Why not make something sweet? Who doesn't love sweet things? I know I do. I also prefer a clean sweet thing then a dirty one. Dirty ones cause my body to have less energy than normal. Ready for the recipe?

Ingredients:
2 bananas
1 cup of frozen strawberries
1/4 cup of raw milk (hazelnut milk, almond milk, oat milk, and another other milk will be fine.)

Directions:
Pull out your Vitamix and place all the ingredients in the blender. Blend till smooth. Pour into Popsicle containers or just a container. Freeze overnight. Enjoy!

What Meal Prep looks like.

This is what a good meal prep looks like. The top of the tower is a red apple for a snack. Then my "Holy Sweet Balls, Batman!" that I made on Sunday. The recipe is posted here. The red contianer is filled with this sunday's meal prep "Grilled Spicy Zucchini". You can find the recipe here. Which can be eaten hot or cold and since I ate it hot yesterday today it will be cold and on top of a bed of fresh spinach from my garden. I just made this prep into an amazing salad!

I also make a green smoothie every morning for breakfst. This is today's smoothie which the recipe will be posted after this blog post!

"Holy Sweet Balls, Batman!" Recipe

I can see myself screaming, "Holy Sweet Balls, Batman!", hence how the name came to be. If you don't know me then you wouldn't understand my love for the Batman. These balls are super easy to make and they are sweet to the taste. Did I mention that they are actually healthy for you?

Recipe:
6 Dates
6 Dried Figs
3 to 4 tablespoons water
3/4 cup of Almond Meal
3/4 cup of Almond butter or Peanut butter
1 cup of coconut flakes
3 table spoons of Steel cut oats
2 Carob chips

Take your dates and figs and soak them in a jar over night in your refrigerator. The next day, place the dates and figs in your blender. Add 3 to 4 tablespoons of the juice the dates/figs were soaking in. Blend. Add coconut to blender and blend. It will have a gritty smooth texture. Leave this mixture in the blender as you grab a medium bowl for the rest of the ingredients. Add almond meal and almond butter in the bowl. Mix with a spoon or hands. I actually had to mix with my hands. Beware: they are sticky! Add the mixture of the blender to the bowl and continue to mix. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix. After they are fully mixed start to roll them into balls. Place into a container and let them chill for 2 hours or eat them right away. Whatever toots your boat!

Beware: these are quite addicting!

Grilled Spicy Zucchini Meal Prep Sunday

I really wanted to create these grilled zucchini roll ups which had ricotta cheese in them, but my zucchini's had way to many seeds to really get a good roll on. When I knew the roll ups were not going to work I knew I could make something even more amazing. The great thing about this recipe is that is can be molded and shaped by you anyway you desire.

Recipe:

Ingredients:
One Black Zucchini
One can of Rotel tomatoes with chilies
Ricotta cheese

Cut zucchini in long thin strips. Grill them on a grill or a george foreman. Cut into slices and place into bowls/plastic containers. Add two scoops of Tomatoes and chilies mix to containers. Add about 1 tablespoon of ricotta cheese. Eat chilled or warm. I actually eat them both ways!

Caution: this will burn your mouth!
